Get fancy with some excursions to the Mount Nelson high tea in Cape Town. Watch what you can get here!

While there are many options for High Tea in and around Cape Town, our nod for the fanciest option goes to the Mt Nelson Hotel. The decor, surroundings, ambience and cutlery all scream premium from the minute you enter those majestic castle-like gates. With options to sit indoors or in the lounge area, you have plenty of spots to choose from. Of course, our nod goes to sitting outside because of the beautiful garden facing seats, as long as the weather agrees.

Mount Nelson High Tea

As with any high tea, you will be served with sweet and savoury treats such as pastries, cakes, and sandwiches layered over tiers. The high tea comes with a plethora of tea options and we really mean plethora when we say that – over 60 different tea ceremonies and pairings led by your tea sommelier who knows exactly what brew fits the right occasion. You can also choose coffee options if the mood requires a caffeine burst 😉

Mount Nelson High Tea

We have preferred the sweet and savoury treats of other high teas over this one, but the choice of teas and ambiance makes up for it, especially if you are going on a special occasion.

After you are done with your wonderful meal, we recommend taking a walk along the garden or taking some fancy pictures for the gram.

The high tea costs R595 per adult and R350 for children under 12 years old. The price points makes this high tea option fall on the high end side, which means its not as price friendly as other options we have shared before. Mt Nelson Hotel offers their tea every hour from 11h00-15h00, Monday to Sunday.
