Rumi Café Cape Town: A Cosy Breakfast Spot

Named after the visionary poet, Rumi Café has quietly become one of the top breakfast spots in Cape Town. Tucked away in the heart of Pinelands, this family-run café delivers generous portions, comforting flavours, and a cosy, unpretentious atmosphere that keeps us coming back. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a slow morning, catch up with a friend, or fuel up properly before a busy day.

If you’re looking for a reliable breakfast spot in Pinelands, Rumi Café is one worth knowing about.

What to Order at Rumi Café

Our all-time favourite is the Sunrise Breakfast. It’s a proper, filling plate that sets you up for the day. It includes fries, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, and toast all in one generous serving. It’s hearty, satisfying, and excellent value for money.

If you’re leaning toward something sweet, the French toast is another solid choice. It hits that comfort-food sweet spot without feeling over the top.

They also offer a lunch menu, which we haven’t explored yet, but it’s on our list for next time.

Drinks Worth Ordering

Rumi Café also does drinks well. Their juice and coffee selection pairs perfectly with their breakfast menu. Two of our regular orders are:

  • The ginger mix juice, especially good during winter or when you need a little immune boost.
  • The mocha coffee, ideal if you like your caffeine with a subtle chocolate twist.
