We’ve been searching for the best burgers Cape Town and if you didn’t know, the popular @smokinjoesza in Durban now has a Cape Town branch. We first tried them two years ago when they had just launched and didn’t enjoy the burgers that much, but we are always open to changing our mind! Watch here.

When we visited Durban, we decided to try their OG branch. And we loved their burgers. They had a yummy taste – it felt like our palettes had lied to us in Cape Town.

Best Burgers Cape Town

So when they asked us to come in again, we were happy to give them a second chance – we had loved their fries even the first time! From everything we tried, what stood out to us was the Gochujang Wings, the Smokin Joe burger and the Royale Burger with cheese. If you are getting a menu option, these are the items to try.

We really enjoyed the buns used for their burgers, they are fresh and bring the burger flavour out so well. If you are looking for drinks, we recommend their milkshakes – they’re rich and taste like ice cream.

We want to specifically give a shoutout to their fries, that are the closest fries to McDonald’s and taste so yummy. Honestly, if we could eat just 1 thing, it would be their fries. Buttt, the regular fries > cheese fries.

Smokin Joes are located at the heart of the bustling Kloof Street – the street is an absolute vibe every evening and we love visiting.
