Florentin Restaurant Cape Town Now Serves Dinner: A Taste of Their Middle Eastern Menu

It’s time, it’s time, it’s time!

The team at Florentin has officially started serving dinner, and we were invited to come in and try a selection of dishes from their evening menu. As always, a quick reminder: we never give false opinions about a place, product, or service. What we share is always based on our genuine experience.

From the moment we arrived, the service remained exactly what we’ve come to expect from Florentin. Warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. The kitchen team has clearly been experimenting with flavours and subtle twists, and those extra touches really stood out during our tasting.

What We Ordered

For our mains, we ordered the Chicken Souvlaki, Mucver, Moroccan Kawarma, and Tavuk Pilpelchuma. If you’re a fan of meat dishes, the Moroccan Kawarma is an easy standout. The pulled lamb is incredibly tender and melts away as soon as it hits your fork. It’s rich, flavourful, and deeply satisfying.

The Mucver quickly became Saleha’s favourite. The zucchini fritters have a crispy outer layer that contrasts beautifully with the sweet, creamy sauce served alongside. It almost gives dessert energy while still working perfectly as a savoury dish. She loved this because not many restaurants put effort into their vegetarian dishes, and fewer succeed in making them taste so good.

The Chicken Souvlaki and Tavuk Pilpelchuma both offer their own distinct flavour profiles, with spices and sauces that elevate the chicken without overpowering it. Every element on the plate (even the smallest drops of sauce) felt thoughtfully placed and balanced.

The Florentin Mocktail

Our waitress recommended the Florentin mocktail, and we’re glad we took her suggestion. The drink combines sour and sweet flavours beautifully, with rosemary and elderflower standing out in a way we didn’t expect. It’s refreshing, unique, and pairs surprisingly well with the richness of the dishes.

And of course, no visit to a Florentin restaurant in Cape Town is complete without their crispy potatoes. If you know, you know. We almost always get these, even if we’re going in for their delicious shakshuka and turkish eggs breakfast.

Why Florentin Stands Out

One of the things we enjoy most about dining at Florentin is hearing the chef speak about the inspiration behind the dishes. The team constantly experiments with blends, spices, and sauces to add new layers to Middle Eastern flavours while still preserving their authenticity.

That balance between innovation and tradition is part of what keeps us coming back. And to be honest, you can see it in the food. Some flavours are combined together so randomly, but they actually pair so so well together.

With Ramadan in full swing, we’re especially happy to see Florentin operating later in the evening. It makes the space even more inviting for relaxed dinners with friends or family.

If you’re looking for flavourful Middle Eastern food, a standout service experience, and a restaurant with beautiful décor, Florentin is definitely worth visiting. The new dinner menu adds another reason to stop by.

Location: CBD, Cape Town

Must-try: Moroccan Kawarma, Mucver, crispy potatoes, Florentin mocktail. If you’re going at a different time, their breakfast! They often have winter specials on their breakfasts during weekdays as well.
