Yummy Halaal Korean food Cape Town, specifically, Korean-styled chicken, anyone? We finally got to visit Plucky’s in Sea Point, Cape Town, and let’s just say, we left full, impressed, and already planning our next visit. If you’d like to watch instead of read, click here.

Plucky’s isn’t your average fast food joint. It’s a full experience: vibey space, Instagram-worthy meals, epic milkshakes, and a menu that brings Korean flavours with a Mzansi twist (yes, we’re talking Doritos corn dogs).

The interior of Plucky’s Cape Town

First Impressions of Korean Food, Cape Town

We first visited the Sea Point branch, which has since then closed down. However, their Mojo Market branch is still open, and fully halaal. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that Plucky’s is about more than just food. It’s about creating a memorable experience.

We even got to chat with the owner, and we loved his passion for creating food that’s so unique, you could recognise it by taste alone. Ambitious? Sure. But after tasting it… he might be onto something.

Okay, but what did we eat?

We ate a lot. And if you’re going, we recommend going in a group so you can do the same.

Here’s what we tried:

  • Chik’n Bao Buns
  • Chik’n Loaded Fries
  • Corn Dogs – Doritos and Popz style
  • Half a Chik’n
  • Gourmet Milkshakes – Peppermint & Double Chocolate
  • Chocolate Bao Bun (for dessert, obviously)

Our must-try picks? ✅ Chik’n Bao Buns; soft, flavour-packed, 10/10. ✅ Doritos Corn Dog – the star of the show, still dreaming about it!✅ Double Chocolate Milkshake, which is sweet, rich, and the perfect end to the mealThe Gourmet Milkshakes – Peppermint & Double Chocolate

Don’t know what to order? The staff are super friendly and offer great recs based on your cravings. We were hungry-hungry, and they came through with the best combos.

Service & Vibe

Despite being super popular and quite busy, the service was fast, the team was efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long to tuck into our feast. You can tell they’ve got their systems sorted, and the high energy of the space really adds to the overall experience.

Deals

One of the best things about Plucky’s is how they always have the best deals. Check out their Instagram page for the latest ones!

Plucky’s isn’t just good, it’s craveable. Between the creative flavours, welcoming atmosphere, and halaal options, we can see why they’re building such a loyal fanbase. Bookmark it, plan a visit, and get ready for a proper Korean-street-food-meets-Cape-Town feast.
