Located in a remote space in Cederberg, 4 hours away from Cape Town, it has the most creative accommodation we have been exposed to. Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve

We chose the cave accommodation and were impressed by their overall hospitality. The view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking and we found ourselves in awe of the sight (check out our awesome photos, we’ll be sharing loads).

Since it is a remote space, you will rely on the restaurant on the property for all your meals. But fear not, they are affordable and have good options for all your meals. You can even request lunch items for dinner if you pre-order. They also have a tuck shop at the reception area for any essentials that you forgot to pack.

If you are wondering how to spend your time, Kagga Kamma offers loads of activities! You will not have access to internet most of the time, so it is the perfect time to unwind and just take a break from everything 💆On the reserve, you have a local spa, several hiking trails and various tours. You can quad bike and mini golf as well. We chose to pamper ourselves at the local spa and take the rock art tour.

The rock art tour was astounding – we highly recommend this! We saw the art paintings left by the Khoi and San tribes to communicate with each other and the people who came after them, and also the places that they used to live in. Our tour guide also took the time to show us Springbok and other animals on the reserve, various plants and their uses, and his knowledge of snakes in the area along with some relatable rock formations (like the Hulk one haha) 🦶

We will do another post on our romantic and private dining experience under the stars, because it was just that awesome!

Their accommodation gets 4.5 stars out of 5 for us, and we recommend keeping an eye out for their specials. If you take the winter special, do note that it is freezing cold, especially at night, and we would advise you pack warm 😁
