This winter, try La Vigna Somerset West’s 3-course meal at one of the most gorgeous hotels in Somerset West. La Vigna has this awesome 2- or 3-course winter deal going on right now. You can watch what we had here.
La Vigna Somerset West
They invited us to try their 3-course meal and we loved it. We had the minestrone and the fish cakes for starters, and both looked amazing when they arrived.
If you’re a soup person who wants something cozy and warming like Aliasgher does, definitely go for the minestrone. But if you’re into great vegetables and enjoy fish, the fish cakes are also really good – Saleha loved them.
For our main courses, we went with the Cape Malay chicken curry and the braised beef short rib pie. Both dishes were delicious. If we’re being honest, the slow-braised pie won by just a tiny bit because we’re suckers for good pastry and tender slow-cooked ribs, but it was really close.
We had the crème brûlée and the chocolate brownie for dessert. Both were good, but the savouries were more amazing!
We also discovered halaal-certified wine, which we had no idea was even a thing before this visit. It has this grape juice flavor that really surprised us in a good way. All the meat options at La Vigna are sourced from halaal butchers.

If you’re looking for a cosy winter meal with beautiful surroundings, this is definitely one to add to your list.
