Neighbourgoods Market Cape Town: Our Favourite Food Stalls at the Old Biscuit Mill

•

There’s no need to keep eating the same foods! Cape Town is blessed with weekend and night markets. A favourite among locals, tourists, and us, is the Neighbourhoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill. Watch here!

It’s a Saturday market held in the vibrant Woodstock suburb. On offer are stores that sell art, clothing, nifty items and, the cherry on top, food.

You will literally be spoilt for choices as the food stalls cater to all dietary requirements – veg, kosher, halaal – from various global cuisines – Indian, Asian, Arabian, American – you name it.

On a hot day, we love a glass of the coconut water at the entrance of the mill. Then, @habibi.ct ‘s beef shawarma is the must-have with their friendly staff offering prompt service. @kapoochka , @thatgoodgood_ct and @pluckys_chik also have stalls offering our favourite pani puris, tacos and Korean meals. A hidden gem for us is the Tanzania Meeting Point offering Swahili doughnuts.

We just love the vibe at the market and seeing everyone around enjoying a variety of cuisines, making it one of our favourite markets to visit.

Parking can be difficult to find on Albert Road – the road adjacent to the Mill on Saturday, so be sure to add in time for the traffic and finding the parking. But you can rely on the carguards to help you find a spot 😉
