Betty’s Bay Penguins. Penguins everywhereeee!!! Excuse our excitement 🤣 but that is the feeling you will get when you visit the Stony Point Nature Reserve. Watch here.
Betty’s Bay Penguins at the Stony Point Nature Reserve
Just an entire colony of them, wobbling around from one spot to another while others chill and bathe in the sun.
It’s a bit like Boulders Beach in Cape Town, but on the quieter Hangklip coast, offering a more relaxed and uncrowded experience.
You’ll have plenty of time to explore and soak in the beauty of the reserve. Oh, there’s a shipwreck too 😍
You can also learn a lot of facts about the different species + what used to be in different spots/their purposes (for example, the lighthouse).
The directions to the reserve are supereasy, when you enter Betty’s bay, there are cute penguin signs along the roads guiding you to the location.
Stony Point Nature Reserve is situated in Betty’s Bay, just a 1.5-hour drive from Cape Town, making it a perfect day trip visit.
Nearby towns like Pringle Bay and Kleinmond are also definitely worth visiting if you are not rushed for time 🙂
