NB: We wrote this review of Khao Hom Cape Town when they had just opened, so some things may have changed. Regardless of when we have gone after, though, their food has consistently stayed delicious. At the time of posting this, they have one branch, in Diep River. The Imam Haroon Rd one is currently closed.

Khao Hom Cape Town: Halaal Thai food

One of our friends recently suggested a family owned Thai restaurant called @khaohomhalalthaicuisine in Claremont. We love Thai food and visiting the place was an absolute treat. Although we only discovered it recently, since then, we’ve gone several times and have enjoyed experimenting with a new meal option at every visit.

Obviously, the food does not disappoint; they have nailed their flavours everytime, making you crave every next bite. Our choices have ranged from the wontons for starters to the sweet and sour and cashews stir fry for the main meals. They also have one of the best deep fried sushi we have tried; both prawns and tuna.

SΜ³aΜ³vΜ³iΜ³nΜ³gΜ³sΜ³ Μ³tΜ³iΜ³pΜ³:Μ³ The restaurant often has a buy one get one free deal for the sushi. So, even if you get 2 full main meals + B1G2 sushi, you will still spend less than most other places!

Their pricing is also affordable for the quantity and quality of food you get and their staff is exceptional; they are friendly and efficient. On busy days, you would have needed to book, but they recently expanded their space.

You’ll need to be creative with finding parking if you need it – either outside on the main road or another dodgy place 🀣
