For this Syrian breakfast Cape Town experience, let’s take you to the heart of Syria in Cape Town! Damascus invited us to try their breakfast options and we really enjoyed it. Watch what you can get here.

Syrian breakfast Cape Town

We had their Shakshuka, the Syrian breakfast and the Hot Mezze Hummus with Lamb. What a lovely combination!

For drinks, Aliasgher had the Syrian coffee and Saleha had the Blueberry Mint iced tea. Presentation is top notch and Saleha loves the little sugar cube that comes with the Syrian coffee and tea 😂

If we had to choose, our favourite meal would be the hummus with lamb. Although not a traditional breakfast, it’s a Middle Eastern combination that truly wowed us. Every bite with the Syrian bread was heavenly.

The Middle Eastern breakfast had different hummus options that one could have with a pastry, the Syrian bread or chickpeas. A great option if you don’t want eggs and want to experience the Syrian culture with your breakfast.

The shakshuka was also unique, and had a different oomph to it than the other options we’ve had in Cape Town. This one relies more heavily on herbs rather than just using olive oil as the main taste originator.

We really enjoyed the Syrian coffee and iced tea drinks; a combination we haven’t had before and we can’t wait to have it again. To top it all off, we had the Nutella waffles and baklava for dessert, which was just the cheat meal we needed for the week.

This we enjoyed with some Syrian tea, which if you’ve had at Damascus, you know the best part is watching it be poured into the cup for you!

If you are looking for a different breakfast experience and trying something new this weekend, Damascus has really gone a long way with serving a mix of Middle Eastern options with the traditional breakfast spin, and you should definitely check them out!
