Gogi Korean BBQ Cape Town’s innovative approach to dining is truly worth experiencing. You can cook your own meats at the table or let their skilled chefs prepare them for you. Watch here!

Korean BBQ Cape Town

The DIY barbeque experience with the BBQ Bulgogi and Galbi was lekker. In a perfect Korean experience, you get rice, small veggie cuts, mini relishes, and condiments to add to the wholesome taste.

The meats are pre-marinated (although you can get the non marinated ones), so all you do is cook them on the stove at your table before devouring the sizzling beef. We felt the DIY portions were smaller, though, and they could only be enjoyed by two people at maximum if you weren’t ordering anything else. If you got stuff to share for the table, it would serve more people.

We also tried the main meals from the kitchen. Our favourites were the Dakgangjeong Korean sticky wings and the Korean Fried Chicken dishes, which have the perfect mix of spicy and fried chicken.

If you want something with protein and eggs, we recommend the Dolsot Bibimbpa Bulgogi, a hearty meal that will be enough for two people. Otherwise, the dakgangjeong spicy dish is a nice chicken alternative.

Of course, the starters get a special mention for being so yummy. Corn dogs are Saleha’s favourite, and although she’d like the full sized ones on the menu, she’d recommend trying the mini ones too. The dumplings, chicken/coriander and prawns, were mouthwatering and devoured so easily by our table. The tokkochi was also a really pleasant starter to try for the first time, we’d have that again!

Alternatively, visit the Korean Mart for a buldak date night experience!
