Located in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, this restaurant has built a reputation for its flavour-packed meals and warm, family-friendly atmosphere. We first discovered it through a recommendation, and after returning multiple times, it’s safe to say it’s become one of our go-to spots when we don’t feel like cooking or want an easy date night option.
Why Sabria’s is worth visiting
Sabria’s strikes a balance between casual dining and a cosy, welcoming ambience. Whether you’re visiting as a couple, with friends, or as a family, it’s the kind of place that works for almost any occasion.
What really stands out, though, is the consistency. We’ve been back several times, and the food continues to deliver.
What we ordered
We’ll be honest, we tend to order the same thing almost every time. The mushroom cheddamelt steak is easily the standout dish. It’s rich, flavourful, and cooked well, making it one of the better steak options we’ve had in Cape Town. It’s served with your choice of fries (regular or sweet potato) or mashed potatoes, which makes it a hearty and satisfying meal.
We also tried the crunchy jalapeño steak when we felt like switching things up. While it was good and had a nice kick, it still didn’t beat the mushroom cheddamelt for us.
To round things off, the samosas and masala tea pair really well with the meal, adding a comforting, local touch to the experience.

Service can be a bit inconsistent. On some visits it’s been great, and on others it hasn’t quite matched the quality of the food. Another thing to note is that a tip is automatically included in the bill, which may affect the level of service you experience.
